Our system uses livecycle to convert documents to PDFs. We have realized that the embeded fonts in Excel are causing some issues, when documents are appended together.
Is there a configuration that we could use such that LiveCycle doesn't embed the fonts when the input file for PDF conversion is an Excel document ?

When using the PDF Generator's Create PDF service using the very same PostScript file (via Administration Console), the corresponding log file yields the following:

Also consider that the alphabet.ps file is, in fact, in the server's C drive, and is thus in the correct location.
Several Google searches reveal to me that this is actually a fairly common issue. Users running Acrobat Distiller require the /F switch in order to access external files via PostScript's run command.
Is there such a switch (or equivalent) for PDF Generator? Is there any sort of way that I can force PDF Generator to accept run commands?

1- Is it possible to obtain and operate the "PDF Generator" application alone? That is, without acquiring other software.
2- If the application can not be acquired alone what should one buy also? The "LiveCycle ES" solution, the "Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)" solution or others?
3- I read on the Internet that the solution "LiveCycle ES" was supposed to disappear in favor of "Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)". Is it true?
If so, is the "PDF Generator" module also available with the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solution?
4- Does "PDF Generator" support the latest versions of Microsoft Office (Office 2016)?
5- Does "PDF Generator" support converting PDF documents to PDF?
6- What is the required technological infrastructure (server, processors, memory, network, etc ...) to make the "PDF Generator" application work effectively?
7- What is the price range for the purchase of the "PDF Generator" application
8- Is the multithread supported for all types of Office documents? Is there a limit in the number of concurrent threads?
Note: Our estimated conversion volume over a year is approximately "1,000,000" documents.
Chrome, Torch and Firefox will not open pdf documents created in Livecycle that have fill in permissions granted without first having to save the document. Most people don't know they have to save first and then open as there are no options for that shown. Instead you get the following message:
"Please wait... If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document. We are using AEM6.1 and providing the XML file as input. In that XML we are passing a hardcoded form name(No inputs will be sent to that xdp form) to get printed. But the output was not detecting and printing the page. Can anyone help me to fix this issue.
When setting up the WatchFolder after initial TURNKEY install, I am receiving the following error:
ALC-PDG-010-012-PDFMaker reported an error while printing the document in the failure.log file (full text of error below).
This is, of course, after working thru other errors, but have been unable to get past this one. According to the LiveCycle AdminUI About page I have LiveCycle PDF Generator ES v8.2.1 loaded. Again, I used the TURNKEY install, have Acrobat 9 Pro Extended installed on the same server along with MicroSoft Office v2007. I looked at the other posts involving this error message, but didn't see where a resolution has been given nor did any of the information lead me to a fix. I tried doing a simple MS Word document conversion from the adminui, the same error, ALC-PDG-010-012-PDFMaker reported an error while printing the document came up. I have been able to open a WORD doc on the server and print using the Adobe PDF printer and that worked just fine. Any help given will be much appreciated!

My requirment is:
Convert different image file and word document file (.doc,.docx) to pdf and merge to a single pdf and display it to the client over the net.
I think I can use Livecycle Pdf generator to fulfill my requirment.
My question is:
1 can use pdf generator standalone i mean with out other services,?
2 I will integrate This with java,so where can I find referance material?Is there any lib file?
3 amd most important question is what is the price of livecycle pdf generator?

When trying to OCR from Livecycle PDFS, I understand they are part of the designer suite for Adobe products and that they contain “interactive” forms and business information that usually contain sensitive information such as PII / PCA data. I’m told that no OCR product works against these types of PDFS while in the interactive mode. And, that in order to make these type of documents searchable they must be TIFF’d and then OCR’d. However, I’m also told that there are only a few products that can TIFF these documents. At this time, I’m told that only LAW can TIFF successfully, but it’s a manual process. If you have any thoughts on this, please share.

I'm getting the following error when trying to convert .xls and .xlsx files to pdf, using the "Create PDF" option:
Error message from the primary converter:
ALC-PDG-010-012-PDFMaker reported an error while printing the document.
Word, Powerpoint and Text files convert without any issues. Also I'm able to opent the excel files and convert them to pdf using the acrobat option in excel.
Livecycle Version: 10.0.2, GM
MS Office Version: 2007

I have installed an PDF Generator ES2 on a Weblogic Server within a Windows 2008 R2 64Bit Virtual Machine.
The Machine has a 3Ghz Single Core CPU and 4GB of Ram.
After installing the PDF Generator ES2 I tried to install a Watched Folder Service.
Generally the Watched Folder Service does render the documents as it should, but the generate process seems to be very slow and unstable.
So I have render times between 16 and 45 seconds on a 2mb sample docx (pictures, tables, etc. inside) document converting to 300dpi standard PDF (PDFA1b 2005 standard).
While rendering the renderer seems to use nearly 100% of the cpu.
Is there any hint where to start analysing and then optimizing such an issue?

for some reason, I need to use in one process webservice invokation for PDF generation (as the PDF generation service is on different server)
And my knowledge of SOAP envelopes is minimal. I can not figure out how to pass the document type variable to the webservice and to obtain converted document to PDF as document variable type again.
Any hints would be highly appreciated and if you manage to post SOAP request with the process variable that refers to the input document, that would be awsome.

I did the following trying to resolve this problem:
- I perform the Acrobat_for_PDFG_Configuration script and SystemReadinessTool for check any configuration problem, they said that there was not any problem.
- I converted office docs using acrobat pro and also i sent them to print to Adobe PDF printer and the print spooler is running.
- I configured de UAC and Security Options in Local Policy Settings.
- I installed Acrobat and Office before Livecycle installation.
- I have configured the jboss service as local system and "allow service to interact with desktop"
The environment for installation is the following:
Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bits, spanish version.
200 Gb hard disk.
4Gb RAM
Microsoft Office 2007, spanish version.
Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.2
