LaunchPad SSL error on JBoss

Hi everyone,

I have PDF Generator running fine and I can convert different formats to pdf.

Now I want to setup launchpad for my users to use PDFG. LC Server is using SSL.

LaunchPad can interact with the service and get all the icons (Create pdf, Export pdf.. etc) but when I try to active the 'Create PDF' to import a file i put in the interface I get an error dialogue with the following error:

DSC Invocation Resulted in Error: class com.adobe.idp.DocumentError : javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target : javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Can anyone instruct me on how to set up these certificates in JBoss or where it needs to be set up to make LaunchPad work.

Thanks in advance

Damaged PDF getting generated when size exceeds 4 MB

Hi,

We have a java application which connects to Adobe LiveCycle server(ver9.0) to generate pdf. It generates pdf successfully when the pdf size is less than 4 MB.

Once the size exceeds 4 MB, the OutputResult object is returned but when pdf is opened says 'File is damaged and could not be repaired'. We checked the result of statusDoc function in OutputResult, but there is no error. Also, in ALC server no error is logged.

MaxInLine Size is 64K.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Change linked email adress (submit form) on LiveCycle edited PDF

$

Dear All,

First, thanks for reading this post. I will really appreciate any comment or help which might help me troubleshooting my current issue.

To make it very quick :

1 - I created a PDF format with Adobe LiveCycle Designer (ES2)

2 - I "Distributed" the PDF format to have one editable file that my client can fill and return via "Submit Form" button

3 - It is working properly and when my clients are done completing the format and click the "Submit Form" button, it automatically sends the PDF to the email address which was linked on the first "Distribution" process.

My problem is that I used a "test" email address when I firstly edited the PDF file. Now I would like to change the email address which is linked to this PDF but I cannot find any option or way to do it in Adobe Live Cycle Designer. When I try to distribute the form again, it doesn't ask me to which email address the form will be linked and automatically links it to the first email address provided.

One option I saw is to create a submit button on the PDF format. However, I am afraid that it will look like "double" eventually (1 submit button in PDF file + the Submit Form button already existing on the original file.)

If someone has any idea how to resolve this, I would be really grateful !

Thanks in advance,

How to generate pagebreaks when converting from HTML to PDF

$

Hi,

I am new to PDFGenerator, but after looking for quite a while I did not seem to find a question, so I decided to post - and maybe help other people who have the same issue:

How do I a control page breaks when I transform an HTML document to PDF using PDFGenerator's htmlFileToPDF method.

I am trying to use page-break-after - but PDF Generator still creates a single page.

But It could be that this is actually a symptom of a wider problem: We have a nice HTML report, which uses media print in the CSS to create a printable version, which adds page breaks, and headers and footers on the printable page in the browser - How do I tell PDFGenerator, that I want it to render the HTML as media print ?

Here is the minimal HTML make I could come up with, which shows my approach for the page breaks:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

<html lang="en">

  <head>

    <style type="text/css">

.pagebreak{

    page-break-after:always;

}

    </style>

    <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">

    <title>

      2 page document

    </title>

  </head>

  <body>

    <p class="pagebreak">

      This is the first page (with p class="pagebreak" )

    </p>

    <p>

      This is the second page

    </p>

  </body>

</html>

Any suggestions are welcome

Thanks

Thomas

Hi SupportTeam,

We are facing problem while invoking an EJB service running in Websphere 6.1 through our client (with the program "ConvertWordDocument.java").

Hi there!

Please, I'd like to know how I should proceed to validade a LC PDF Generator trial version, already installed and working.

Once I buy a licence, can I just activate the software using the serial number, or do I have to reinstall the product?

Thank you for any information!

When you install MS Offcie and Adobe LyveCicle Generator ES why it's required to start JBoss with the same admin user account that was used during the installation of MS Office ?

Is there another way ? It's not correct that jboss user has the same ADMIN right than instal user.

Dear all,

I have around 1 million documents that need to convert from .doc / .xls to PDF, and I've found that some .doc files embedded with other files into it, like a .doc inside another .doc, or .xls inside another .doc, for those files, after converted them using LC PDFG, the embedded files will become an icon image, is there any methods to convert those documents so that the embedded files are also "attached" inside the result PDF? Thanks!

How to store generated PDF to client computer

Hello

I've made a process in Adobe LiveCycle Workbench which generates a PDF on OutputPath (string variable) from XDP and XML data provided . Service is invoked from Java web application.

Environment, where the LiveCycle and our Java application sits is Linux and I have to provide credentials in code to access this service from Java client.

Is there any way how to store the generated PDF not only to linux server, but also to client computer? Our web-application will be used in production by anyone on the internet, so there is no login/password. Thank you very much.

dwg to pdf using PDF Generator ES2

Hello,

I'm trying to use LiveCycle PDF Generator ES2 to convert a .dwg file into pdf, using both the LiveCycle admin UI and the LiveCycle webservice API. In both cases, I receive the error:

'This file type is not supported by LiveCycle PDF Generator ES2 .'

  • Why am I receiving this error, even though 'dwg' files are listed as a supported file format?
  • Are there any specific prerequisites to converting 'dwg' files into pdf, given that other file formats I've tried (Office and image formats) are being successfully converted?

Please note that I am using an Adobe LiveCycle evaluation version provided by Adobe.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Regards,

Marwa

I did the following trying to resolve this problem:

- I perform the Acrobat_for_PDFG_Configuration script and SystemReadinessTool for check any configuration problem, they said that there was not any problem.

- I converted office docs using acrobat pro and also i sent them to print to Adobe PDF printer and the print spooler is running.

- I configured de UAC and Security Options in Local Policy Settings.

- I installed Acrobat and Office before Livecycle installation.

- I have configured the jboss service as local system and "allow service to interact with desktop"

The environment for installation is the following:

Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bits, spanish version.

200 Gb hard disk.

4Gb RAM

Microsoft Office 2007, spanish version.

Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.2

Unable to convert an image (.bmp) to PDF

I have a written servlet that uses Adobe LiveCycle API to convert files to PDF. This works. I have a problem with one image (.BMP) for which the PDF conversion fails. I then tried converting the image to PDF using Adobe Acrobat. I see the following error:

error.JPG

I am able to open the image file without any issues. Why does Acrobat think the file is corrupt? Is there a way to find out if an image is OK for PDF conversion, either manually or programmatically? Attaching the image file for reference.
